Masala Tea Brack

A traditional Irish fruit Loaf with a twist.


  • 150ml Mazawattee Masala Chai (one tea bag)
  • 375g dried fruit
  • 225g self raising flour
  • 175g Demerara sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp ground mixed spice


  1. Mix together the Masala Chai, dried fruit and sugar.
  2. Cover and leave overnight.
  3. Heat the oven to 160°C.
  4. Grease and line the base of a 1kg loaf tin.
  5. Add a beaten egg to the mixed fruit, then gradually stir in the flour.
  6. Place the mixture into the tin and bake for about 1½ hours.
